Maintenance Technician

SHIROKI North America, a supplier to the automotive industry located in Gordonsville, TN is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician/ Team Leader on 2nd shift (4pm-12:30pm).

Job Summary 
To maintain current service production equipment, support installation and setup of new service equipment, implement line kaizen and yosedome improvements, and maintain the plant facilities and electrical distribution network.
Essential Job Functions/ Duties: • Skills (Reactive and preventative maintenance)

  • Understanding basics of electricity function (AC & DC), flow, drawings, trouble shooting, and danger potential
  • Understanding of pneumatic function, drawings, and trouble shooting.
  •  Understanding of hydraulic function, drawings, and trouble shooting.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, screw drivers, etc.).
  • Understanding and ability to read and measure with calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, etc.
  •  Understanding assembly fit tolerances.
  • Ability to TIG and MIG weld mild steel, tool steel, and aluminum o Understand principles of resistance welding.
  • Ability to trouble shoot PLC functions by software o Reactive maintenance (troubleshooting, PLC, robotics, spot welding, MIG welding, staking).
  • Maintain plant facilities o Line kaizen and yosedome (combining machines and jigs, floor space reduction, line improvements).
  • Installation and setup of new service equipment o Ability to operate power tools.
  • Basic computer skills required (Excel, Email, Word, machine software).

Team Leader Responsibilities
  • Communicate with Maintenance group leader on issues on lines on their shift.
  • Report issue of down time and work with engineering on fixes.
  • Make sure down time for each tech is put in e-maintenance at end of night.
  • Make sure PMs are done on time in each quarter and are done right.
  • Communicate with production group leaders of up time and down time of machines.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Group leader, and Engineering manager if something goes down and can’t be fixed during their shift.
  • Help with maintenance tech on repair of machine during shift, if not busy.
  • Work with Engineering on issues your shift is having trouble with.
  • Help train team leader tech as to what not to adjust and what to adjust on their lines.

Physical needs
  •  Ability to lift 35 lbs. or less on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to lift more than 35 lbs. when required o Ability to work in a dirty environment (oils, greases, welding, etc)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Qualifications
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires an Advanced Degree in related discipline and three (3) plus years’ experience in related field -or-
• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and one (1) plus years’ experience in related field -or-
• Associate’s degree in related discipline and three (3) plus years’ experience in related field -or-
• Non-Degreed with five (5) plus years’ experience in a related field.
• Certification may be required in some areas.
• Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This is a climate-controlled facility.
